[Shockwave Wiki Entry & Driller Wiki Entry].
Personality:
Logic. A common word used when speaking about Shockwaves. This one is no different. He's unemotionally logical and cold, making him incredibly efficient. That isn't to say that the Decepticon is incapable of feeling, simply that it is more difficult for him to do so. Logically he has decent control of what limited things he is capable of feeling, and does his best to not betray logic and hint at anything emotional. He doesn't have time for emotions.
Cold and calculating, he doesn't care how many die getting the job done, as long as the job gets done. Attachments are few and do not emotionally mean much. Driller's death resulted in a slight bit of fury and shooting down Optimus Prime, but nothing more. It was only partially about Prime killing his pet, but mostly about him ruining Shockwave's plans. He does not grieve, he is simply irritated and moves on with things. As dwelling is illogical and emotional. Can't have that.
However, Shockwave is not against avenging himself on those that have wronged him, or even for those he favored or deemed useful (given they were killed before completing what was necessary).
Shockwave is one of the few Decepticons powerful (and smart) enough to be called a rival to Megatron, however unlike many of his comic counterparts he doesn't seem to desire taking leadership for himself. He seems to take his loyalty from his cartoon counterparts and he serves Megatron and the Decepticon cause without (much) question. He is content (as much as a Shockwave is capable of being) to simply take orders from Megatron as it allows him to do what he does best. Kill Autobots. However, he is incredibly focused on his mission. Fighting is a bonus, and if his mission requires him to avoid fighting, then he will do so.
Killing is what he lives for and has been since the war between tribes; long before the Autobot/Decepticon war over the AllSpark. Despite being a scientist he chose to join Megatron's Defense Force, his love for fighting being that strong.
Shockwave does have his moments where he can be a bit more scientific minded. The first time he saw a driller for example he was more intrigued by the creature than saving the hatchlings and Starscream it was attacking. This was both for the power it possessed and because it was an unknown.
Peace is not something Shockwave enjoys, claiming that he prefers the path and not the destination. He would much rather fight towards the goal, than be forever trapped in the resulted peace and freedom. It's tedious and seems far too idle. He doesn't know what to do in peace.
He is a decent friend, if you manage to gain his respect. Fully willing to listen to problems, offer advice, and kill people for you. The usual friend-type things.
Powers/Abilities:
ASTROMAG CANNON. A large arm mounted (or well, his arm) laser cannon. It has been seen to utterly obliterate humans, leaving them nothing but a burning ashy skeletal mess. To Cybertronians it's not as... vaporizing. It can be as lethal, depending on where he hit (and who, because plots), as he easily shoots Jolt in the chest and he explodes. However not all his blasts cause such a result, some in fact can cause no more than minimal damage, simply destroying some bits of armor. In the novel the plasma energy it fires is described as powerful enough to incinerate an M1 tank.
TANKFORM. As a Cybertronian Shockwave has the ability to transform. His vehicle mode is a Cybertronian tank.
SCIENTIST. Despite Shockwave's love of killing Autobots, he is in fact incredibly intelligent and is, by function, a scientist. Combine this with his dedication towards logic and you get an incredibly efficient scientist capable of not only capturing one of Cybertron's most deadly forms of wildlife, but breeding his own built for war and controlling it.

Inventory:
DRILLER. Drillers are described as "semi-sentient at best", however Shockwave's pet shows a bit more thought process, possibly due to being Shockwave's pet.
Driller is incredibly loyal, as is common amongst its kind. It will protect Shockwave, its master, to the death if needed and will do whatever is asked of it without hesitation. It will never betray, nor will it disobey or ignore an order once it is loyal to one it deems as master. Even if wounded it will find a way to shield its master if they are in trouble, as its loyalty is fierce and no one hurts the one it serves. It will stay out of a fight if it is told to do so.
It is not a Decepticon tool, it is itself, a Decepticon, and is fully capable of differentiating between friend and foe. It would not attack another Decepticon without reason, as they are allies and on the same team as its master and itself. This has likely been made clear to it by Shockwave, in addition to it likely having been pointed out that Autobots = kill. This isn't to say that it will just attack as it prefers to follow the orders given to it. Driller is incredibly based around orders, and without them it is likely to follow its instincts.
It can be very single-minded, focusing solely on its task and ignoring everything else - unless that anything else is getting in its way of completing its task. It is like a loyal puppy wanting to make its master happy.
Despite being military bred its natural instinct is for it to retreat against powerful enemies and extreme danger rather than stick around and fight. It will face such situations if it has been given an order to, or if its master is in trouble. Still it is a flight not fight creature.
Emotionally it often seems to show either fear or rage. Fear being its more instinctual reaction to being attacked. Rage being more present when it has a job to do and things are getting in the way of that. Or someone is attacking its master. Or it is being kept from its master. The one thing that causes Driller to freak out most seems to be being kept away from Shockwave. It could be described as panic or anger, it just generally dislikes being away from him. As such it is likely most content when near him. It does not handle separation well.
It feels most at ease when underground, and dislikes being in cramped spaces where it has limited vision. That said, it would also dislike being within a wide open space where it cannot burrow or hide.
As seen in the Driller mini-chapter, it is capable of some form of mercy. It may have possibly been random narrative, or bleed over of Shockwave thoughts, but as it does not specify I stand by my perception of it being all Driller all the time, and that it is capable of "mercy" and somewhat coherent thought.
The Driller mainly relies on its long tentacles for attacks. It uses them to grab, squeeze, and crush others as well as the saw blades on the ends of them to slice enemies, or whatever is in its way. These tentacles are also used to break through the ground as it digs about beneath the surface, as well as to break up onto the surface.
Its mouth is basically all fangs, capable of spinning and thus another one of its weapons and tools for attacks and digging. In addition to this is its size, as it is incredibly large (about 1080 feet long) and snake like, its body is quite capable of crushing things. It is basically the Cybertronian version of a Dune Sandworm.
Its body contains a cockpit, which is capable of holding one very large mech. It has retractable plating around this area so it can cover up and protect its master as it digs, or to protect them from the attack of another. Spin effect is ON for when it opens up to let its master out of said cockpit.
Within this cockpit are a bunch of little cables which hook up to the head of whomever is inside. This is likely used to communicate with its master/whomever is in the cockpit forming some kind of mental link. This link seems capable of remaining in place (for whomever is the Driller's master) without the use of cables, as it constantly seems to know what its master wants without any spoken words. As well as it is capable of sensing when its master is in danger and where they are. [This is partly headcanon, since they don't explain at all how the Driller knows what Shockwave wants, and where he is, and when he's in trouble.]
Starting Polarity: Megatronus Prime [if he has like a bazillion pawns and Liege Maximo has less then him, put him with Liege]
Writing Samples
First Person Sample:
Which once of you has the Driller? It is missing and refuses to answer my calls. It is rather difficult to misplace a giant 1080 foot long "mechanical worm" and I am not stupid. I am aware one of you has done something to it.
Before any of you Autobots think you are witty, it did not run off on it's own. That wouldn't be like it. I did not order its leave, so one of you must have done something. You have 6 breems to inform me of its location. If not I'll just have to take you Autobots apart, piece by piece.
Your screams will have to do, if I do not get it back.
Third Person Sample:
Being in a battle and then suddenly not? It's a bit of a jarring experience for the large Decepticon and his pet. Sure Shockwave had been in peace times before, but this was abrupt. Incredibly so. Not to mention unintended. A side effect of the pillars?
But they hadn't started bringing Cybertron through yet, couldn't be.
The Driller rumbles, it's tentacles swaying slowly in the air as it looks around the strange place. Its calmed by a small pat from its master as he looks to the sky. There was no reason to allow the current situation to cause hints of emotion, it was not logical. And the sky. He'd never seen something quite like that before and if he had to describe it... Fascinating would likely be his first word.
Science was something that had never really left him over the wars, although he often did more assassinations than science experiments these days. He was fine with that of course, it was logical for the cause. He did what was asked of him, his missions were of top priority and little else mattered.
"Driller."
The Cybertronian doesn't have to say anything more as the large creature dives into the planet and disappears from view. If the Autobots had done something that caused this... displacement then he would have to find a way back. The quicker the better, the Decepticons would not lose the war. They would restore their home, and he would kill as he always did.
First he needed to figure out where he was, then he could make his way back to Earth. Scout out this planet. Figure out which of them displaced him here.
Nothing would get in his way, and if it did, he'd kill it.
Final Notes:
Requesting permission to have a separate account for Driller. For icons and using for tags/posts or whatever that involve it doing more than Shockwave, just to help things be clearer as to what's mainly Shockwave and what's mainly Driller. Or should the two get separated for whatever reason making a post looking for Driller could come from Shockwave's account, or making a post looking for Shockwave could come from Driller's. Driller posts, of course, wouldn't happen too often since Shockwave is the focus.
I would be okay if this means Driller counts as a character slot, although I don't know what that would mean for activity rules and such, since he's Shockwave's pet attachment item thingy.
